Whether you have an Oriental rug or any other type of area rug, our very first step is discussing the cleaning process with you and addressing your concerns. We visually inspect your area rug to make sure there are no underlying problems. We also do this to use our trained eyes to make note of any spots or stains. Sometimes on intricate Oriental styles, small spots are hard to see.

Dusting is a vital part of cleaning area rugs. Rugs accumulate a tremendous quantity of dust, sand as well as dirt. Consequently, most of these elements become embedded in the base of the rug. Importantly, the actual dust, sand as well as dirt must be taken away before cleaning it with water. It is important to note that using water without initially dusting it will cause embedded components to harden within the foundation. This will result to a stiffer rug then eventually reducing its life-span.

Depending on the soil level and/or any special problems your area rug may have, Royal will use industry accepted professional cleaning agents to loosen greasy soils, address odor problems, and leave your area rug clean and fresh with a thorough rinsing afterward.

After the carpet is cleaned, the pile is groomed so the wool fibers are uniform in direction maximizing light. The rug can now be dried quickly which will prevent browning and/or dry rotting of the foundation. For this we employ the use of high powered air movers which allow us to dry both the top and bottom of the rug simultaneously.
Of course the above guidelines are basic and each rug presents its own unique set of circumstances, such as wool or cotton foundation, stable or migratory dyes, hand or machine made. All of these considerations are taken into account as we return your rug to its original beauty.
